I have a Master’s degree in Education, specifically Imaginative Education. I think that makes me a Master of Imagination.
I have a theory that a teacher who doesn’t know how the brain works is in danger of committing malpractice. Just call me dangerous.
Fortunately, I found “Restitution Theory” early in my career and was taught that it’s okay to make a mistake. Just that, after all the mistake-making, you need to try to fix things up – and not make the same ones again.
A LIFE OF SERVICE, CREATIVITY, PEACE
It seems my greatest service is to youth who have been told unhelpful, or hurtful, stories about themselves & their learning. A service of redemption requiring creativity & peace. For more than a decade, I have been a public school teacher working with 13 to 16 year olds who require intensive behaviour support & who are often smartie pantses in disguise.
I also hold a degree in Creative Writing. I think that means sometimes I lie when I write. Like now…. The real truth is, sometimes I lie when I talk, too.
MONEY, FINANCES, PERSONAL DREAMS
I have believed in the romantic notion that true artists & true activists starve. That their hunger enhances their work.
Now, I see that art & activism are starved to death by poverty. Selling out is a liar’s phrase for survival. Financial freedom supports creative freedom.
To be financially free is to understand, acquire, value, and use money as it flows to you. Sometimes I talk about what I learned that changed my mind & my net worth.
