A Love Letter to Antonio Banderas

Book Club is always illuminating. To say the least. Intellectual. Base, occasionally crass … okay, I am occasionally crass and they put up with me.

One of the women starts to talk about her cousin – Antonio. I break in, like I have ADHD, “Your cousin is Antonio Banderas? I LOVE Antonio Banderas! He’s 4 months younger than I am. And, the only reason I’m not going to ask you to introduce us is because I love my husband, and even though Antonio is married to Melanie Griffith, he would probably leave her immediately if he met me. And, I like Melanie. It would be messy, very messy.”

“So, my cousin, Antonio Rossini, says to Auntie Karen ….”

Antonio

Damn.

All the People I Love

It got me thinking of all the people I love who don’t know I love them (or I haven’t mentioned it in a while) like Antonio and Johnny (Depp, of course.)

Dear Antonio, Johnny, Mum, Kieran, Alvin, Karen, Debi, Kelly, Jo-Ann, Nancy, Tanya, Leah, Steve, Stacey, Karen (there’s a number of you!), Maria, Lynn, Kathy, David, Marj, Rod, Ann, Jack, Bookwomyn, Adam, Lyndsay, Jamie, Jamie, Jamie, Jamie, Dad, Judi, Craig, Dawn, Dylan, Karen (again!), Sean, Ruby, Sean (a few of you guys, too!), Tihana, Skyla, Lawson, Chloe, Tonya, Gillian, Gillian (yep, two of ‘em), John, a whole bunch of kids, Elizabeth, Doris, Dixie, Jan, Steve, Christine, Steve (only 2!), Madison, Will, Matthew, Amanda (even though we have yet to meet), Paul, Trevor, Anne, Ray, Keith, Harv, Leonard, and the “So You Think You Can Dance” franchise, and in case you didn’t hear me last night as you were falling asleep, my dear husband,

I love you for who you are. I am delighted by what you bring to my life.

My ears and spirit have been enriched by the sound of your voices. My heart gladdened by your generosity. Some of you challenge my mind in such brain-twisting ways that I am never the same again.

You give me a place to belong.

Through your love, kindness, or example, you inspire me to courageously follow my dreams and interests.

You show me how to be good at things; you let me be good at things; and, it is all good.

Without you, life would be no fun.

All my love,

Caitlyn
